Happenings!

Has it really been that long since my last blog post? If you know me, you know that I'm terrible at anything requiring regular, planned timing. I get great things accomplished when I'm pressed for time. Seems like my free spirit needs to be tied down by deadlines and pressure to get things done.

So what have I been up to? Well, I've created a couple of book covers, did some freelance typesetting of a book series for print, jump-started my dormant watercolor painting vibe, went to the Pentatonix Concert with my daughter and friends, AND still managed to go to work and publish a couple of books for Mantle Rock. Whew!

I've had the opportunity to work with two great authors over the last month, Cyn Taylor and Kristin Neva. I had a great time working on their book covers and I will be posting more details about their books and publication times in another post.
Sandra Robbins contacted me to do typesetting for a series of print books she was self publishing. Her agent had had covers created and was publishing ebooks, but Sandra wanted to publish print books as well. This romantic suspense series has been been a blast to put together and I've enjoyed getting to know Sandra better.

If you are an author who self publishes (through CreateSpace or some other forum) and would like to have a more polished, professional look to your book, feel free to drop me an email. I offer typesetting services for both print books and ebooks. I also offer services like creating chapter headings and title pages.

Savannah, Juan, Madeline & Donnely keep me young at heart! Those four along with Donnely's mom, Beth, made up our crew for the Pentatonix Concert. We had loads of fun and the music was AWESOME! Beth did our chauffeuring and got us out of downtown Nashville in record time after the concert.

Lastly, I have joined an art class at our church. I took art classes years ago, before Savannah was born years ago, and that was one of my hobbies that was on the back burner after becoming a mom. I have been pleasantly surprised that it is somewhat like riding a bike. So here's a sneak peak at my first "masterpiece" in progress. LOL. It's not ready for the art gallery but it feels good to get the paints out and slap a little on paper.
Hope you have a great day! Hopefully, I'll get back to more regular posts!

You inherited the genes to be on a deadline. I make them for myself. I love the picture. Waiting for the Tate Springs Gazebo. Loved that painting.

The canvas for Tate Springs ripped in the move to Nashville. I still have it but haven't had the heart to finish it. Besides, it is an oil painting and I don't have all the supplies for that anymore. May have to redo it in watercolor.
